T-MAN is the 2010-2011 OFHL CHAMPION!!!
CAN YOU BELIEVE T-MAN HAS NOW WON TWO OFHL TITLES? IT SEEMS LIKE JUST YESTERDAY HE SHOWED UP AT HIS FIRST OFHL DRAFT, DECKED OUT WITH HIS ‘NUCKS HAT, BRAINY SPECS, AND A BACKPACK FULL OF OLD McKEEN’S. YOU’VE COME A LONG WAY, T-MAN! (but you still have those red sweat pants, sweet!)
Congratulations to T-Man as he wins the OFHL Championship with a record of 52-18-2, good for 106 points and a 7 point gap over GoJo. It’s the 2nd time T-Man has won the crown, his first win coming back in 2007.
T-Man set his sights on the Trophy early in the season as he made some astute vet draft picks (St. Louis 1st rd, Visnovsky 2nd rd, & Selanne 6th rd.) It’s also notable that he did this without much of a contribution from Malkin, for whom he traded Toews & Perron early on.
T-Man’s team was solid early in the season, but really came on when he left his job and family in Africa to dedicate himself full-time to the effort. Still, he feels he shares this victory with all of Rwanda, and the news of his victory was met by cheering throngs in the streets of Kigali.
Congratulations are also extended to GoJo who ties Orv with 99 pts, but takes THEE DERKO CUP for the 2nd year in a row aka “The Kovalev Curse.” GoJo wears the cup over Orv by virtue of the tie-break, player points (881 to 851). GoJo can attribute his strong showing to the acquisition of DSedin & Nash. Would someone like to undo that trade?
Orv finishes 3rd with another solid season of wheeling and dealing, while 6 finished 4th. Dinky could be considered GM of the year for putting together the 2nd highest player points without having one player in the OFHL top 20 players. Jimmy Howard was his highest point producer with 80 pts.
Three teams were tied for 5th with 69 points, but player point totals put Cordy in 5th, Vinny in 6th, & last year’s champ Derko in 7th. Out of the money (well out of the $$) were nFg (8th), rookie GM EZ in 9th, $40 in 10th, and Hauksta at the bottom.
We’ll need to get together ASAP to present the OFHL Trophy, solidify the draft positions by doing lottery picks, and, of course, fit THEE DERKO CUP on the winner, (or re-fit it as the case may be.)
