Week 3 Shenanigans

We hit the 100th game of the season this past week and we have the following headlines that continue to baffle many:

  • Tomas Hertl leads the NHL in goals
  • Matt Cooke leads the Wild in scoring
  • Brayden Schenn leads the Flyers in scoring
  • The top ten save percentage leaders include names like: Al Montoya, Jean-Sebastien Giguere, Peter Budaj, Thomas Greiss, Jonas Gustavsson, Carter Hutton and Robin Lehner
  • Goalies with save percentages under .900: Braden Holtby, Martin Brodeur, Tim Thomas, Devan Dubnyk and Niklas Backstrom

PICK-UP: Rolphy gets the pick-up again this week.  He grabbed Arcobello EDM and dropped Brodie CGY.  Derko didn’t want to upset Karma so he dropped Shore FLA after picking up “Pickles” from SJ.  Fulty reports that Vlasic has been used as forward in the Sharks most recent games.

NEXT WEEK:  Drop Down Day OCTOBER 27th.  The rosters have to be cut down to 13 Active, 12 bench, and 5 prospects.  And just in case you’ve forgotten about the prospects…

i.     PROSPECT LIST – the prospect list may include any players who are 23 years or younger on the day they were placed on the list.

  1. On Cut-Down Day, each GM will designate a Prospect List of 5 players maximum
  2. No player may be designated as a Prospect or moved to the Prospect List after Cut-Down Day unless they are acquired through the pick-up
  3. Prospect List player may be activated to the Active Roster or Bench at any time.  The player loses their “Prospect” designation for the remainder of the season while on an OFHL roster.  If the Bench has 12 or more players, a player must be dropped to make room for the player coming from the Prospect List.
  4. Teams may have more than 5 prospects on their roster during the season, but must cut down to 5 by the pre-draft cut-down day.
  5. The Prospect List may only carry more than 5 players if another Prospect is acquired through a trade.
  6. At the end of each season, Prospects are placed on the regular roster.

POTW – 8 points for Crosby gives him the POTW honors

STANDINGS WEEK 3

There’s a log-jam up top as Fulty and Haukster have big weeks with 39 points each.  Fulty’s back in 1st and last week’s leader FB-Erty drops to 5th – I’m sure we’ll hear about that.  Gojo’s struggling to break free of the bottom-feeders.
